MURFREESBORO — At the turn of the 20th century jazz music made an appearance into the social scene of America. Generations later it has become a popular artistic genre of music, one that Murfreesboro celebrates each year with a two-day festival, JazzFest.
From its early beginnings of speak easies and bootleg booze to its worldly, contemporary fusions of today, the style has evolved both in sound and in acceptance.
