Tennessee duo haul in top honors in Crappie tourney

CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — Competitors in the Crappie USA tournament at Kentucky and Barkley Lakes out of Paris Landing State Resort Park this past week were expecting some big fish and they were not disappointed.
Crappie USA officials reported that nearly 200 anglers from ten states fished the tournament and Tony Hames of Trezevant, Tenn. and his partner Tim “Skeeter” Ayers of Idlewild, Tenn., took top honors in the Semi-Pro Division with a two-day total of 14 crappie weighing 25.26-pounds.
