Fireworks flagpole to be donated to sheriff’s office

MURFREESBORO — Their hands tied by city codes, owners of the Fireworks Supermarket that burned four years ago will donate the business site’s 90-foot flagpole to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office this morning.

Chip Loyd, a partner with IL Investments, said he decided to give the flagpole at 2030 S. Church St. to the sheriff’s office because the Murfreesboro Codes Department notified him it doesn’t meet city regulations.
