Murfreesboro a Player in James Brown Kidnapping Case
Murfreesboro got some out-of-town exposure lately, in a federal kidnapping case being heard in the District Court in Huntsville this past week.
James A. (Jim) Brown, a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, had been accused of threatening his ex-wife’s mother and then forcing the ex-wife to drive him to the VA hospital here in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on October 23 of last year.
Represented by Bob French and Robert Ray, two Fort Wayne attorneys, Brown had to wait through an overnight recess as the federal jury deliberated his fate.
After more than three hours of deliberation, the jury in a federal kidnapping case this past Wednesady acquitted James A. (Jim) Brown, 62, of Rainsville, Alabama, of kidnapping his ex-wife, whom he had divorced just two days prior.
