Discovery Center Offers Two Great Animal Events
Murfreesboro’s The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring will be hosting two events for children early this coming week.
At 9 AM on Monday, The Discovery Center will host Parents & Tots: Animals on the Farm, an event for children five years and younger. Created by the National Wildlife Foundation, this event is part of the Parents & Tots program, which teaches reading, math, and science and health through play and interaction. Included in the price of admission, attendees also will enjoy snacks, crafts, and parenting support.
On Tuesday, May 18, at 3:30 PM, attendees of all ages will Animal Antics. Included in the price of admission to The Discovery Center and created by The National Wildlife Foundation, participants will have the opportunity to learn about animals of all sorts and their environments.
The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is an educational center featuring an hands-on museum and nature exhibits, aimed at inspiring children and families through creative fun. The Discovery Center was started in 1986 as Children’s Museum Corporation of Rutherford County, and The Discovery Center doors opened after a young parents’ grassroots campaign. Twenty-four years later, over 110,000 people visit the Center every year.
The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is located at 502 Southeast Broad Street and is open on Sundays from 1 PM–5PM and the rest of the week from 10 AM–5PM
