Headquartered here in Murfreesboro, Barrett leads the entire world in the design and manufacture of large-caliber rifles. Used domestically by civilian sport shooters, law enforcement, and the U.S. Military alike, Barrett firearms can be found in over fifty America-friendly countries around the world.
Local Ronnie Barrett founded the company in 1982 when he decided to do something about his idea for a shoulder-fired .50 caliber rifle which now is known as the Model 82.
As head of an industry-leading company, Ronnie Barrett is often quoted in national media, defending the United States Constitution and in particular the Second Amendment.
Barrett Firearms learned accolades from the U.S. Army in 2005 when its M107 was named one of the greatest inventions of the year. Ronnie Barrett personally was recognized by the accounting firm of Ernst & Young as one of the Southeast’s Entrepreneurs of the Year in 2006.
